The R9M Engine
Introduced in 2011, the R9M engine is a 1.6 dCi, 4-cylinder Common Rail direct injection engine. It features a dual-mass flywheel and a variable-geometry turbocharger. Boasting 130 horsepower, the engine was a replacement for the Renault 1.9 dCi and the Nissan 2.0 dCi.
Parts from GT Automotive
Last month, at GT Automotive, we introduced 2 new camshaft part numbers compatible with the R9M. Our offering extends to a range of timing chain kits, piston rings and a crankshaft pulley.
Universal Timing Chain Kit
For the R9M engine we have three options for timing chain kits. This is due to some applications of the engine having a different sized sprocket, either a 33mm or 38mm.
- GTCK049 – 38mm Crank Sprocket
- GTCK112 – 33mm Crank Sprocket
- GTCK114 – Universal Kit, featuring both 38mm and 33mm
The GTCK114 contains both a 38mm and 33mm sprocket. Only one of these needs to be fitted, matching the one removed from the vehicle. It’s crucial that the sprocket from the vehicle has been measured to ensure correct fitment.
